Rain above the Mamakau – Kaimai ranges in North New Zealand falls on native rain forest which is naturally filtered as it seeps down the forest floor and down through multiple layers of volcanic rock to form an underground aquifer.

Fifty to one hundred years later, part of the aquifer emerges as a pristine water source that is internationally acclaimed as The Blue
Spring.

The Blue Spring has a temperature that remains close to 11 degree celsius all year and flows at 42 cubic metres per minute.

At source, The Blue Spring maintains an iridescent blue colour due mainly to its rare natural clarity which allows red light to pass deep into the surface pool.
