Nadine Isler Psychologist Company Information
General information
Nadine Isler, Registered Psychologist, BA (Hons) Grad Dip (Psych) MSc (Psych) PGDipPsychPrac, MNZPsS
I am a Registered Psychologist with several years experience in the health industry. My background is in Health Psychology, and I have a special interest in anxiety and depression. My most recent role saw me working with adolescents and adults in a primary-health medical centre, seeing a variety of presentations. I use a blend of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural, Acceptance and Commitment and Dialectic Behavioural Therapies. Mindfulness training is often an extremely helpful part of treatment.
I provide assessment and evidence based treatment for a wide range of mental health issues, including:
Anxiety disorders (including OCD, phobias, panic attacks)
Depression (whether it's been going on a while, or you're not sure what exactly you're experiencing)
Mood disorders
Personality disorders
Stress
Eating issues
General health issues
Medication management
Relationship issues
Transitions
Self esteem and assertiveness
Identity issues (e.g. sexuality)
Pain management (including relaxation and mindfulness techniques)
I work with adults and adolescents, with a particular focus on the adolescent-young adult cohort. If something you're dealing with is not on the above list, contact me and ask - if I'm not the right therapist I may be able to point you in the right direction.
Professionalism, confidentiality and training are all essential to the practice of psychology. But beyond that, the way I like to work is to see past the condition to the person I'm working with. I believe it's essential to work in a collaborative, transparent and productive way, ensuring that you as the client feel heard, held, and empowered in a partnership in the therapeutic process. This means that we'll set goals together, develop a treatment plan together, discuss progress, and you'll be encouraged to let me know if you'd like any changes in the way we're working. That includes regular check-ins on whether you're seeing the results you sought therapy for.
Therapy is often very hard, emotional work and it's important to me that we develop a relationship of trust, so your progress can occur within a safe and comfortable environment.
Questions and open discussions are always encouraged.
I am ACC registered, and WINZ approved.
